The KTC approach to ceilings & soffits
Ceilings are where the eye lands first. We build hard-lid drywall ceilings, feature soffits, LED cove drops, drywall bulkheads and full acoustic tile (ACT) grid systems.
Level ceilings across long runs are a discipline: we shoot laser lines, coordinate with HVAC and sprinkler, and float every seam so the ceiling reads as one plane.
How a ceilings & soffits job runs.
Same rhythm on a 1,500 sq ft suite as on a full floor — because consistency is what protects the schedule.
Shoot laser lines around the perimeter. Confirm heights against RCP and coordinate with HVAC / sprinkler.
Hang ACT grid to tolerance, or frame hard-lid soffits with cold-rolled channel and hat channel.
Board the hard-lid, build feature drops, install LED cove and reveal trim to the design intent.
Drop tile square in grid, install access panels at valves and dampers, laser-check before turnover.
Walk with the GC. Flags fixed same day. Ceiling reads as one plane.

Do you install acoustic tile as well as drywall ceilings?+
Yes — both. Many jobs are a mix: drywall lids over collaboration zones, ACT over open plan. One crew, one schedule.
Can you build LED cove and feature soffits?+
Yes. We frame the drops, install the LED channel, coordinate with the electrician and finish for a clean uplight reveal.
How level is 'level'?+
We shoot laser lines and target 1/8" over 10 feet on hard-lid runs. ACT grid we hang to manufacturer tolerance, verified with a laser.
